THE WORKFLOW
How to add text to a PDF
- Open Add text and choose the PDF and pages that should receive the text.
- Enter your text and adjust font size, color, angle and position. The precision controls measure X from the left and Y from the bottom in points.
- Check the preview for overlapping content, choose Add text & download and reopen the output to review the placement.
PRACTICAL EXAMPLES
Choose the workflow for your document
Type answers onto a PDF with blank lines
Place the answer on the visible line and inspect its baseline and size. If the document has recognized form fields, filling those fields may preserve its intended structure better than adding text over them.
Add a note to selected PDF pages
Choose only the relevant page positions. A page selection can repeat the same text on several pages, so confirm that each page has enough empty space at the chosen coordinates.
BEFORE YOU SHARE
What to check in the result
Adding text does not replace the original words underneath. Use the PDF Processor for supported existing-text edits, or Fill PDF forms when the document contains actual form fields. Use redaction if the underlying content needs permanent removal.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Questions about this PDF task
Can I edit existing text with this operation?
This operation adds new text. The PDF Processor has a separate existing-text editing workflow for supported content.
Why does text appear at the wrong height?
The Y coordinate is measured from the bottom of the page. Use the preview when adjusting it, especially on rotated pages or pages with different sizes.
Can I type using my own handwriting?
Use Type in my handwriting to create a font from a photographed alphabet and place text with that custom style.
