PRACTICAL EXAMPLES
Choose the workflow for your document
Highlight a passage in a PDF
Position the rectangle over the line of text, then adjust width and opacity. Check that adjacent lines are not obscured. The highlight is based on its page position, not a text search.
Add a visible review note
Choose Text note and place a short explanation where there is space. A visible page note is useful for a simple handoff but does not provide replies, comment history or author tracking.
BEFORE YOU SHARE
What to check in the result
These controls place visible page marks. They are not a shared review thread, and a highlight does not remove the content underneath. Use low opacity for a highlight so the text remains readable, and use Permanent redaction for information that must be removed.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Questions about this PDF task
Will an opaque rectangle redact the original text?
No. Markup is added over the existing page content. Use Permanent redaction and verify its output for sensitive information.
Can I mark selected pages only?
Yes. Enter a page range or comma-separated selection before applying the markup.
Are these collaborative comments?
No. This operation adds visible marks and notes to the exported pages. It does not host a multi-user comment system.
