THE WORKFLOW
How to inspect PDF properties and page sizes
- Open PDF inspector and choose the document.
- Select Inspect PDF and review the reported size, PDF version, page count and available document properties.
- Use the page dimensions or metadata findings to choose the next operation, then inspect the exported copy again if needed.
PRACTICAL EXAMPLES
Choose the workflow for your document
Check PDF page dimensions before resizing
Review the size reported for each page. A mixed document may contain several paper dimensions, which helps explain why a single crop or footer position behaves differently across pages.
Review common PDF author and title fields
Check the reported document properties before sharing. Use the metadata editor if those fields need adjustment, and separately review the visible pages for information that properties cannot describe.

What to check in the result
Inspection is a summary, not a complete security or format-validation audit. Its encryption indicator looks for markers in an initial portion of the file, so it is not definitive. Encrypted, damaged or unsupported inputs may show unavailable fields. Page dimensions are reported in points.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Questions about this PDF task
Does the inspector prove a PDF is safe?
No. It summarizes selected document properties and is not a malware scanner, privacy audit or definitive encryption check.
Why are some properties unavailable?
The file may be encrypted, damaged or use content the local parser cannot read. Compare with a compatible PDF reader and keep the original.
What unit is used for page dimensions?
The report uses PDF points. There are 72 points in one inch.
