THE WORKFLOW
How to merge PDF files
- Open Merge PDFs and choose at least two PDF files. You can add more files before processing.
- Drag the selected files into the order you want. Pages from each file follow that file in sequence.
- Review the page thumbnails and merged preview, then choose Merge & download. Open the result to confirm the first and last pages.
PRACTICAL EXAMPLES
Choose the workflow for your document
Combine attachments into one application PDF
Put a cover letter, supporting evidence and appendices in the required order before merging. The files become one document; merging does not insert a table of contents or adjust the printed page numbers. Add page numbers afterward if you need a continuous sequence.
Keep the right page order when joining PDFs
The merge order applies to whole files. If an appendix belongs between two pages of another PDF, extract or reorder those pages first. Reopen the combined file and check the transition between each source document.
BEFORE YOU SHARE
What to check in the result
Merge keeps the original pages together in file order. If you need a custom order for individual pages, use Delete / reorder pages after merging. Password-protected files may need to be unlocked with their known password first.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Questions about this PDF task
Can I merge PDFs without uploading them?
Yes. The selected PDFs are processed in your browser. The page may download the code needed to run the tool, but your PDF files are not sent to a processing server.
Does merging PDFs reduce image quality?
Merge copies PDF pages instead of rendering them as new images. It does not apply the image compression used by the separate Compress PDF operation. Check forms, links and existing signatures in the downloaded copy.
Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
Use Unlock with password first when you know the viewing password, then merge the unlocked copy. The merge operation cannot guess a missing password.
