Delete and reorder PDF pages

A scanned packet can have a misplaced cover, duplicate pages or an appendix in the wrong position. Reordering builds a new PDF from the sequence you choose, and omitting a page removes it from that output.

THE WORKFLOW

How to delete and reorder PDF pages

  1. Open Delete / reorder pages and choose your PDF. Identify pages using the thumbnail preview.
  2. Enter the desired sequence in Pages. For a four-page PDF, 1, 3, 2, 4 swaps the middle pages; 1, 3-4 leaves out page 2.
  3. Review the new order, choose Apply page order and check the downloaded document from beginning to end.

PRACTICAL EXAMPLES

Choose the workflow for your document

Remove an unwanted page from a PDF

List the pages you want to keep. To remove page 3 from a six-page file, use 1-2, 4-6. Confirm the output count so a mistaken range does not drop an additional page.

Move a scanned cover to the front

If the cover is currently page 5, start with 5 and follow it with the remaining positions in reading order. The source file is retained while you check the new copy.

BEFORE YOU SHARE

What to check in the result

Use actual PDF page positions rather than printed numbers. A blank Pages field selects all pages, so enter an explicit sequence when deleting. Work from a copy if the source contains signatures or interactive content, and inspect that content after reorganization.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions about this PDF task

Can I use descending page ranges?

Yes. The page parser accepts a range such as 5-1 to reverse that sequence. Review the result before downloading.

Is deleting a page the same as redacting text?

No. A kept page retains its content. Use Permanent redaction to remove selected areas within a page.

Can I combine files before rearranging them?

Yes. Merge the source PDFs, then reorder pages in the merged copy.
